England Hockey Club 1st and Sport England Club Mark Accreditation
2008:Re-awarded Sport England Clubmark Accreditation for providing a Safe, Effective and Child Friendly club environment.

2004:Beeston HC became the first club in the East Midlands, the first National League club and indeed only the 4th club in the country to be awarded England Hockey Clubs 1st  and Sport England Clubmark Accreditation in January 2004. Beeston had to complete a comprehensive assessment file covering all aspects of the club including sections on 1) Duty of care and child protection 2) The playing programme 3) Sports Equity and Ethics and 4)Club Management and complete a club audit. The facts in the file were then verified on a club assessment visit by an independent England Hockey Officer. Club 1st accreditation is awarded as recognition that clubs are working towards providing a Safe, Effective and Child Friendly club environment. Sport England Clubmark accreditation is the generic award for 20 sports and is a nationally recognised accreditation. The scheme was only launched in Nottinghamshire in November 2002 so the completion of the file by September 2003 and visit by November 2003 was an excellent achievement by Beeston.  You can visit the Sport England and the Club 1st web sites by clicking on their logo’s at the top of the page.

Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme
Beeston HC became an Access Organisation for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme in 2002. This enables us to award modules in Physical Recreation and Service which go towards the Bronze Award. Recipients can then “cash in” these modules and obtain details of the remaining two modules Skill and Expedition in order to complete the Bronze Award. The D of E Bronze Award can be achieved by anyone age 14 -25 years.   You can visit the D of E web site by clicking their logo at the top of the page.
