Hinkley Mixed Minis  2006
Beeston Retain U13 Title At Hinckley Mixed Minis 2006

Team Beeston traveled to Hinckley as defending champions in all 3 age groups. However with our top U15 boys absent at the National Cup Finals weekend in Canterbury and several others missing at all age groups we were not expecting to repeat this grand slam. It is an indication of how strong our club has become that we were still able to send 5 teams. Hinckley is one of the most enjoyable tournaments we take part in and we were pleased to offer the opportunity to play to so many kids.

In the morning Les Morrice coached the U11s and Joseph Robinson was their umpire. The team of Jordan Homer, Isaac Elliot Anderson, Katie Hopkisson, Kate Sotheran, Ben Nevill, Sam Gauntley, Tom Kerr, Katie Morrice and Tori Bate finished a creditable 3rd having played 6 matches winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 2. Tori Bate was their top scorer.

In the afternoon Les took charge of the team of umpires, Joseph, David Charlish, Mark Taylor and Paul Willars and Pete Shuttleworth organised the coaches and teams.

In the U15s event Beeston entered 2 teams coached by Vic Gram Hansen and Dave Lyneham Brown. Beeston VGH finished 3rd by beating Burton 2-0, Dixie 1-0 and Leicester 2-1; drawing with SLYH 1-1 and North Notts 0-0 and only losing to Beeston DLB 0-1. Alex Sotheran was their top scorer. Beeston DLB beat SLYH 2-0, Leicester 4-0, Beeston VGH
1-0 and Dixie 3-0; drew with Burton 0-0 and only lost their last match against North Notts 0-1 which meant they finished runners up. Holly Brown was their top scorer with a hat trick against Leicester.
Beeston VGH: Millie Oddie, Becca Jordan, Liam Marshall, Sophie Mulligan, Alice Shuttleworth, Mark Smallwood, Alex Sotheran, Jimmy Tristram and Ross Whiting.
Beeston DLB: Bex Brown, Holly Brown, Nick Charlish, Adam Corbett, Michael Freeman, Charlotte Goodman, Tom Hubbard, Emily Slatcher and Matt Taylor.

Beeston also entered 2 teams in the U13s event coached by Pete Shuttleworth and Alan Postlethwaite but the teams were reduced to 8 and 7 players respectively due to illness on the day. Beeson PS finished 4th out of 9 teams. They played 8 matches winning 4, drawing 2 and losing 2. Thierry Way was their top scorer. Beeston AP finished as champions and they were unbeaten winning 7 matches and drawing 1. They scored 26 goals in their 8 matches conceding only 1. Top scorers were Marcus Hooper who scored 13 goals and George Osborne who scored 9 goals.
Beeston PS: Jon Allcock, Jack Howard, Matt Shuttleworth, Jack Simkins, Thierry way, Charlie Gram Hansen, Anna Wilson and Eve Mason.
Beeston AP: Cassie Jordan, Chavonne Duckworth, Ella Holloway, Marcus Hooper, George Osborne, Ali
