Nottingham U15’s Club League 2007-8 Reports
Beeston have entered 2 boys teams, BeestonMK and BeestonGold and a girls team, BeestonMP, into the leagues this year. The boys will play 5 fixtures in total against Mansfield, Newark, South Notts, West Bridgford and each other. The girls will play 6 fixtures in total playing SBU, Nottingham Highfields and Ashfield twice each. The age qualification for the league operates on a Sept 1st date allowing some of the players who are ineligible to play in the cup to play in the league. Teams are also allowed to play 2 over age players if necessary.

In the opening matches of their league campaign the Beeston teams probably had their toughest opponents in the league
BeestonMK(boys) played Mansfield , the Bees created several chances in the opening minutes of the game against a strong Mansfield team. Ali Postlethwaite scored for Beeston after 20 minutes but Mansfield always looked dangerous on the break and equalised shortly into the second half. Beeston continued to keep possession and Marcus Hooper scored twice to make the final score BeestonMK 3 Mansfield 1.
BeestonMP(girls) played a strong SBU team who scored either side of half time. However the Beeston girls did not give up and were rewarded with a goal from Phillipa Burgin towards the end of the match. The final score was BeestonMP 1 SBU 2.
